The 101 on Watering Your Christmas Trees

It’s that time of the year again: Let me give you the 101 on watering your Christmas trees: F Y I This is so so Important.. Please pass this along.. Please Share this F Y I

*********Remember that if you get a real Christmas tree you need to get a fresh cut off the bottom of it before you bring your tree into your home & when you get it home you will need to place it into warm water immediately, Your Fresh Cut tree will drink anywhere from 1-2 gallons of water the 1st HOUR!!!! and the second hour could drink another gallon of water the 1st few hours are very very important. after about three to four hours your tree will start to slow down in drinking please don’t stop watering it, but now you can change over to cold water, it is in your house. Use Warm water to allow the sap to soften so that the tree can drink more water. More water means the tree will not dry out and will stay fresher longer Please do not let the base of your tree dry out it is so important to keep water in your reservoir. at all times. Prolong (we give these out for Free when you buy your tree at Riva Gardens) is a preservative that will help to keep your needles on your tree. When a live tree comes into your home the temperature of your house is warmer so the tree thinks it’s spring and wants to drop its needles Prolong will help to prevent that from happening. A happy and moist tree is a Happy and Safe Holiday for everyone!!
